About Me

With over 20 years experience training dogs, and injury forcing me out of my career as a Carpenter, I decided to turn my focus onto my favourite subject - dogs!

Together with my partner, Vikki, who manages the business, and as the owners of two lively Staffordshire Bull Terriers, we specialise in Bull breeds, but we recognise the importance of good training in all dogs from the most basic  commands to reactivity, aggression or more complex issues.

How we work

We have found through experience that many people prefer a more personal and down-to-earth approach to training, rather than generic text book teaching.  We understand that people have lives, families and commitments to work around, and we do our best to accommodate these, whilst still achieving the desired results.

After a full consultation to establish exactly where you are having difficulties, we will devise a training programme specifically for your individual situation.  We can provide training at home or at a location suitable for you.  We may be able to help in a one-off session, or adapt a regular session to suit your needs and budget.

Our balanced training methods are based around how dogs naturally communicate with each other, and we never use or recommend physical or stressful techniques such as shouting, smacking or behaviour corrective collars.  We encourage training through play and exercise so your dog is always in a fun, stress-free environment whilst learning how to behave in a variety of situations.

What do we teach?

Are you frustrated with your furry friend?  Embarrassed by their behaviours?  We will be able to help!

As much as our dogs are our babies and part of the family, we don't believe they should be taught in the same way as  children.  We knew an elderly lady who insisted on putting her puppy on the naughty step!  All dogs are intelligent creatures, and with the correct training and encouragement and time and effort put in by their owner, they should be a true best friend to everyone in the household.

By coming to the dog's own environment we can establish a positive relationship and develop respect and trust.  We work with both dog and owner to solve issues such as:

  • Obedience
  • Aggressive behaviour
  • Toilet training
  • Jumping up
  • Chewing/destruction
  • Digging
  • Pulling whilst on the lead
  • Puppy training
  • Anxiety
As with all training, there is no 'quick fix' to behaviour issues.   Work must be put into training after our session to get the desired results.  Whilst we try to work to every budget, the cost of training will vary depending on the problem, and we are more than happy to discuss this with you by telephone or at consultation.
